4 T’s you must be thinking what is it?

Siliguri is considered as the 4T’s city. T for Timber, Tourism, Tea and Transport. Therefore, when we decide to take a day tour around the city we revolve around these 4 props as our tour guide. To start a perfect day in this city the first step should be a cup of amazing Darjeeling tea that immediately gives you zest to start your day. So the first T from your bucket list is ticked off!

P.S: Darjeeling tea is one of the best tea’s in the world round. Therefore, visiting Siliguri and not packing up enough amounts of tea leaves is a total NO.

For creating the best of memories from this city, you should reach Tiger Hill in Darjeeling before Sun says hello to you! Darjeeling is hardly an hour drive from Siliguri, hence your sunrise plans should be from there to catch hold of the magnificent view of the Kachenjunga.

We have always heard of Keventer’s for all the exotic breakfast plans when in Darjeeling, but if you are looking forward to a breakfast with a view then it must be Rhododendron Dell Exotic Resort. This resort is located at the top of the hill and gives a breathtaking view so feeding on hot aloo paranthas and hot coffee is a must before say bye!

Driving back from Darjeeling, stopover at the Coronation Bridge, Sevoke and push down your selfie stick to make a memory keeping the furious Teesta River behind.

Driving through the curve ends, mocking at the monkeys, talking with the silence of the hills will be your next destination-Bengal Dooars. Like all the Bollywood movie songs, you can also fly your scarf in between the tea gardens and breath in the amazing essence of nature.

Lunch should be planned at one of the local highway restaurants for it gives you amazing local food which no 5 star can suffice!

A sumptuous plate of hot rice, daal, aloo bhaja(fried potatoes), gondhoraj lebu(a lemon with beautiful essence), choto machher chorchori(a dish made of small fresh river fishes), mutton curry. There is no alternative to this meal.

p.s: Your second T from your bucket list is travelling with you – Tourism!

Driving down to the city put a break at Gajoldoba, the newly found destination near the Teesta Barrage, the serene beauty gives you a calm evening munching some fresh fries from the nearby stalls.

As the sun sets you can visit Hill cart road where the city lives. Take a turn into the momo gali and hog on to some delicious fried, steamed and tandoori momos which is supported by a hot soup to enhance your taste buds. Tangy tasty phuchkas, chicken /egg rolls,  pav bhaji from the Bombay Stores all together makes you stomach full. Once you are set with all the pet pujas, you can head to the Hong Kong market for some bag full of shopping till you drop. You don’t need to travel to Bangkok anymore for your foreign collection; you can get that done from here. Starting from clothes, bags, shoes and everything possible, each one tempts you for more and more.

At the end you can call for an auto and rest your feet to drop you to your destination.

p.s: The two left out T’s , Timber and Transport from your bucket list will be explained as you catch up with various furniture shops on your way to see the tempting carvings . Transportation is huge in business here.

A day like this adventurous, thrilling and sugary gives you a happy memory to wish to come back to this 4t’s again and again..
