1. Namchi
    The latest tourist attraction at Namchi is the Char Dham – a pilgrimage center of the Hindu deity Lord Shiva. Ropeway  to begin its services from Samdruptse to Namchi town and then to Char Dham for tourist to views the hills and surroundings.   2. Aritar
    Aritar is approximately 63 km from Gangtok and takes approximately 3 hours to reach.  The Lampokari Lake at Aritar is surrounded by lush greenery. This water body has been recently provided with artificial embankment to facilitate boating, a first for Sikkim. A short trek leads you to Mankhim Dara, where a temple dedicated to the ethnic Rai community is located. Mankhim offers a 360 degree view of the surrounding areas.Aritar hosts the Lampokhari Tourism Festival in the month of March/ April. For the adventurous, there is rock climbing and paragliding, which is guaranteed to keep your adrenaline rushing. The festival offers visitors traditional cultural shows, flower exhibition and local ethnic cuisine to tickle your taste buds.

  3. Yuksom
    33 kms from Pelling, Yuksom, literally meaning the ‘meeting place of three lamas’ is of great historical importance to the Sikkimese. It was here that the first Chogyal was crowned in 1642. The throne made of stones is even today considered sacred as is the footprint of Lhatsun Chenpo, which can be seen close to the throne 2 km uphill from Yuksum is Dubdi monastery, the oldest in Sikkim. Yuksom is also the gateway to the Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve, the base for some of the most fascinating treks through high mountain region with the route to Dzongri being the most frequented.

  4. Rumtek
    Rumtek, this is the place from where you can get amazing sights of the whole Gangtok town on the opposite hill. However from the gate at the base, it requires an uphill walk (about half a kilometer) to reach up to the main monastery.Rumtek monastery is one of the largest in Sikkim. The architecture of the monastery is one of the finest in the world and resembles the original one in Tsurphu, Tibet.

  5. Uttarey / Varsey
    The Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is a destination in the Singalila Range. From Barsey one can trek to Sandhukphu and Phalut in Darjeeling via Gorkhey. The sanctuary is spread across nearly 104 square kilometers across the Singalila Range. This Sanctuary can be approached from three points; they are Hilley, Dentam and Soreng.
